Frequently Asked Questions

How Diamondbrite Works?

Nowadays, most Car Manufacturers use water-based paints on their cars. While environmentally friendly, they do need some form of protection as these cars are prone to fading and oxidation.

Previously used solvent-based paints, which are better than water-based paints are now avoided by manufacturers as they are now under constant pressure to conform to environment legislation. Perhaps this is why most car manufacturers’ handbooks recommend that the owner should polish their vehicle at least twice a year. However, the act of polishing will degenerate your paintwork because every time you polish your car, a very minute layer of your paint work is removed.

Diamondbrite has been formulated such that once it is applied onto your car’s paintwork, there is no need to polish your car again. This is because Diamondbrite will form a high-gloss protective layer (like a protective skin) that is water, air and shrink-proof.

It is this protective skin that prevents road salts, traffic film, acid rain, tree sap, insect fluid and other atmospheric pollutants from contacting the car’s paintwork.

Is this product limited to new cars only and if not, is there a limitation in the age of the car for Diamondbrite to be applied?

Brand New or Newly Registered Cars
Application is recommended to be done prior to delivery, or as soon as the car is delievered. Once your car is prepared to "showroom condition" by the dealer, there is no need to wax/polish the vehicle before application of Diamondbrite. If your new car dealer cannot provide the service, you should bring your car to us as soon as you can before it gets scratches, dents and blemishes.

Cars that have been on the road for some time
There is no limitation on age of the car. Diamondbrite application will mask minor/shallow "swirl marks" but it will not hide deeper scratches or dents as this is not the product’s main aim. Where possible, it is best to bring the car back to an acceptable condition and then apply the Diamondbrite, which will ensure that the newly-renovated car stays in tip-top condition. Please note that where possible, fine scratches and swirl marks will be removed by us. Whilst we will restore your car’s paintwork with Diamondbrite products, there will be instances where there are deep scratches, dents or paintwork blemishes that cannot be removed.

Which parts of the car will it cover?

Diamondbrite application will cover 100% of the painted metal/plastic surfaces. When we carry out the process, we will open all doors, bonnet and boot lid/tailgate to ensure that all painted areas are protected and finished with a consistent, lasting shine.

Alloy wheels are not treated with Diamondbrite but we have an alloy wheel protector (also from Diamondbrite) which will prevent the build up of brake dust and road grime on your alloy wheels. This needs re-application every three months and is not covered by the 6-year guarantee.

Interior trim/leather seats are not treatable with Diamondbrite Exterior Treatments, but we do have other products, from Diamondbrite, that are specifically designed for such areas.

Is special equipment required to apply Diamondbrite?

No special tools are required at all, but we will provide a dust-free and clinical environment at our application centre. This is to ensure the best results.

How long will the application take?

The entire job would take 1½ to 2 hours, depending upon the size of car. However, it will take longer if preparation of your car includes removing blemishes, fine scratches and swirl marks. So it depends on the condition of the paintwork.

Any maintenance after the application? What is the cost?

The vehicle can be washed with a car shampoo any time you think your car needs a wash. And washing does not remove the Diamondbrite layer. However, in order to maintain that high-gloss shine, the Diamondbrite layer needs to be maintained at least ONCE a month, after a wash.

After you have washed your vehicle, use a diluted solution of the Conserver (250 ml supplied when the application is done). Use two capfuls of the Conserver in half a bucket of clean water to get the best results. Apply this solution onto your car’s paintwork and then rinse off after you have applied it to the whole car. After rinsing, dry off with a soft microfibre cloth. You have to use the Conserver after you have washed the car so that the Conserver can have direct contact with the paint.

The Conserver can also be used neat to remove stubborn stains and blemishes.

Alternatively, we offer a package where we will wash and conserve your car for you once a month for a period of 12 months. Please refer to our list of services for this package.

Can I use a car wash or a jet wash with Diamondbrite?

With Diamondbrite Paint Protection applied onto your car it is possible to use an automatic car wash or jet wash. The Diamondbrite will actually help to protect the car against the risk involved with an automatic car wash. Cars tend to get scratches as they pick up dirt/stone from the previous cars. You should also note that car wash stations provide different levels of cleaning. Some include a waxing cycle, which you should avoid. Instead, choose the basic wash setting and apply the Conserver to your vehicle via the car wash by putting a little of the product on the front wings and bonnet.

Does Diamondbrite prevent scratches on my car's paintwork?

There is no paint protection process in the market that is hard enough to prevent scratches on your car’s paintwork. However, after application of Diamondbrite, should there be any fine scratches or swirl marks, they are actually on the Diamondbrite protective layer and not on your paintwork. These can be "repaired" using the Conserver in neat form. Likewise with bird droppings, these will fall onto the Diamondbrite layer and not your paintwork. If bird droppings are washed off immediately, the Diamondbrite protective layer will prevent staining. If it is not washed off within 24 hours, staining may occur. But again, the stain is on the Diamondbrite protective layer. These stains can be removed by using the Conserver in neat form.

What would the guarantee cover?

The guarantee is for six (6) years from the date of application and it is against deterioration of the paintwork by reason of oxidization, fading, flaking and climatically–induced cracking. The guarantee is fully transferable to a new owner if the car is sold.

The UK manufacturer (Jewelultra Ltd – www.jewelultra.com) is ultimately responsible for the guarantee. Diamondbrite Pte Ltd, will be responsible for addressing any customer concerns or claims in Singapore. Any claims are then settled by Diamondbrite Pte Ltd and then we will address it with Jewelultra Ltd. (Please note that, in over 30 years of business, Jewelultra Ltd. has never had to pay out against a warranty claim – the customers’ concerns have always been amicably resolved.)
